MAOLI FARMS
Aloha! Welcome to Maoli Farms, a USDA Native Urban Farm in Kailua, Oahu, dedicated to nurturing Native Hawaiian plants and herbs. Our journey began in honor of my father, Grant Wilhelm Enos, a firm believer in the power of herbal medicines and La'au Lapa'au. After his passing, we embraced the kuleana (responsibility) to care for his plants, finding healing and solace in the process. This path led to a deeper connection with our culture and the 'aina (land), and we discovered the profound benefits of "Lo'i Therapy"—a natural remedy for depression, stress, and life’s challenges.
My husband and I made a life-changing decision to leave our careers in the Auto Industry to embrace a more natural, culturally grounded way of living. We recognized the growing demand for Native Hawaiian Mea and, even more importantly, the need for knowledge. Many of us, as Hawaiians, either "know" or "don’t know." I was once among those who "didn’t know," but I was determined to learn—AiKea! We’ve had the privilege of connecting with farmers, cultural practitioners, and kupuna from Maui, Hawaii Island, and Oahu, who generously shared their 'ike (knowledge) to keep our ancient traditions alive. Working in the Lo’i on each major Hawaiian island has been a profound experience, awakening a deep connection to our roots. Our mission is to help restore that connection—to get native roots and kanaka firmly rooted back in our 'aina.
